October 24th-26th Harvest Hustle concludes the 2024 Race Season

September 19, 2024
MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa

Things will heat up the last weekend of October and close out the season during the with the Fast Shafts Harvest Hustle. The 3-day event will start off with a Thursday evening Test n’ Tune and conclude with over $72,000.00 being paid out to 24 drivers in 6 divisions of racing.

$4,000.00 to Win $400.00 to Start IMCA Modifieds, $3000.00 to Win $300.00 to Start IMCA Stock Cars, Thanks to Fast Shafts, $3000.00 to Win $200.00 to Start IMCA Hobby Stocks, $2,000.00 to Win $200.00 to Start IMCA Northern SportMods, $1,000.00 to Win $100.00 to Start each for IMCA Stars Mod Lites and IMCA Sport Compacts.

The event will utilize the King of the High Banks qualifying procedures for all classes in the 2-day event Friday and Saturday. Drivers will draw for their starting position Friday night for one of two heat races. The first heat race will line up by the initial draw and the second heat will be an invert of your starting position, but with a heat race of different drivers.

Drivers will accumulate finishing position points starting with 100 for winning the heat. From there, each position drops by 7 points. Passing points of five (5) per car passed will be awarded for positions gained from the original starting spot. On the opposite side of that, for every position you lose from the original starting spot, one and a half (1.5) points are deducted for each position. Any ties in points will be determined by the initial pill draw.

After each division has completed their 2 heat races of 12 laps each (total 24 laps) the top 10 in points will be locked into Saturday night’s Feature events. The points earned Friday determine the starting order for Saturday’s line ups.

Saturday will see Last Chance Heat Races lined up by the points earned from 11th on back. Depending on entries in each division, there will be 5 last chance heat races with the winner and second place moving to the Feature. Third on back will go to a minimum of one (1) Last Chance Qualifier taking the Final Four qualifiers to the Feature.

Not only will we have great racing on the track, but there will be a great party atmosphere after the races each night with a bonfire, music, and socializing outside and inside the Activities building. Friday night will see a bags tournament in the Activities building with a cash payout to the top 3 teams, buy in for the tournament is $40.00.

Saturday afternoon, we will have Trailer Trick o’ Treating for the young race fans from 2pm-3pm. Kids will get to come to the pits, see the cars and take home some treats from the racers. There will be a $100.00 cash prize to the best decorated pit during Trick o’ Treating.

Camping will be available at the Fairgrounds with 1st come, first serve electrical hook ups. There now is a dump station behind the new grandstand bathrooms where you can fill water when you arrive if needed. Camping is $85.00 for the event and will be available October 1st to purchase online at marshalltownspeedway.com

We look forward to making this the event that everyone will want to attend and to end the season out with a great time for everyone on and off the track.
