Marshalltown Speedway hosts night three of IMCA Frostbuster

MARSHALLTOWN, Iowa (March 28, 2024) – Night three of Frostbuster Week sees four IMCA divisions in tour action on the fabled highbanks of Marshalltown Speedway.

Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds race for $1,000 to win, IMCA Sunoco Stock Cars for $750 to win and both Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods and IMCA Sunoco Hobby Stocks for $500 to win on Friday, April 5.

Pit gates open at 4:30 p.m. and the grandstand at 5:30 p.m. that afternoon. Hot laps are at 6:45 p.m. and racing is at 7:30 p.m. Spectator admission is $20 for adults, $15 for veterans and seniors, $15 for students 11-17 and free for 10 and under.

Mach-1 IMCA Sport Compacts are also on the race program and additional information is available from Marshalltown promoter Jerry Vansickel at 515 231-4046. The track website is marshalltownspeedway.com.

Other tracks hosting Frostbuster specials are Independence Motor Speedway on April 3, Stuart Speedway on April 4, Boone Speedway on April 6 and Benton County Speedway in Vinton on April 7.

Modifieds, Stock Cars, Hobby Stocks and SportMods also race at each of those venues.

Frostbuster champions earn the biggest share of $1,000 point funds and will be eligible for race of champions events at the upcoming IMCA Speedway Motors Super Nationals fueled by Casey’s. Modified and Stock Car feature winners become eligible to qualify for their respective All-Star Invitationals.

Marshalltown hosts an open practice session on April 2. The $5,000 to win Stock Car-headlined King of the Highbanks is scheduled for April 10-12 with an April 17-19 rain date.

If weather is good for King of the Highbanks on April 10-12, the IMCA Speedway Motors Weekly Racing season opening night will be April 19.
