There's more in '24 on the High Banks

2024 is looking to be another exciting year at the high banks of the Karl Auto Group Marshalltown Speedway. As always, a very action-packed schedule has been released and drivers from all over the country have their bucket list set to make a Friday night stop in MoTown.

The 2024 season gets kicked off with the annual IMCA Frost Buster Friday April 4th and from there, it is nothing but full steam ahead with some of the best paying weekly racing and specials throughout the year.

The Drury Automotive IMCA Stock Cars will be the first to race for big money April 10th-12th during the second running of the King of the High Banks. Drury Automotive of Eldora, Ia will be the presenting sponsor and have added $5,000.00 to the A feature purse making it now $5,000.00 to Win and $500.00 to start the Friday night 50 lap championship event. There is a rain date scheduled for the following weekend if needed. Weekly Season action will kick on April 19th if the rain date is not needed.

May will start out with the Local UAW 893 Cliff Champers Memorial on the 3rd. Racing will then have a quick turn around with KIX 101.1 FM Thursday Night Thunder May 9th. EMW Trucking and the famed “Radar” will present Military Memory night on Memorial Day weekend Friday night May 26th with not only adding money to select divisions that evening but will also be taking care of our veterans and our fallen soldiers with an amazing pre-race ceremonies and other activities. Plus, this will also be the annual Corn Belt Clash for the Knight Sanitation IMCA Stars Mod Lites.

June once again becomes the “Month of Money” the Tire Demon by Love Tap IMCA Modifieds. One racer could go home after four Friday nights of IMCA Speedway Motors weekly racing with a potential of $4,200.00 minimum. Friday June 7th is the return of the Capital Sign Company “Twin Topless Dirty 30’s”. Friesen Performance IMCA Modifieds will go topless and compete for $1,200.00 to win, $120.00 to start the 30 lap main event. Friesen Performance IMCA Northern SportMods will also race topless also for a top prize of $1,000.00 and $100.00 to start. Each division will be draw / redraw.

P&D Welding Solutions of Nevada, Ia will award $1,000.00 to the top finisher in the Modified Feature on June 14th. In addition, they will sponsor again the “Structural Shoot-Out”. We will see 16 Modified racers taking on each other in a 4 car per round bracket style race with the top 2 moving to the next round. The winner of the final round will pocket $500.00. Second through fourth in the Shoot-Out will also be rewarded for their efforts. P&D Welding Solutions will present a one-of-a-kind custom-made steel trophy for the winner also. This annual event will be the Friday after the Clash at the Creek at our sister track, the Francis Creek, Wi speed plant 141 Speedway.

Week three of money moves to Friday June 21st with the Midwest Liquid Systems night. The top prize is another night of $1,000.00 to the winner.
Week four is RBF Electric and Mid-States Boring night and will reward a minimum of $500.00 prize to the Modified Feature winner.

All $1,000.00 events or more for the Modifieds are also Fast Shafts Invitational Qualifiers during the IMCA Super Nationals.

July Kicks off with a bang thanks to our friends at Xtreme Powered by Mediacom. July 5th IMCA Hobby Stocks will pay $1,000.00 to Win in their 20 lap Feature event. IMCA Stock Cars will be up next for a $1,000.00 to Win night during a special Thursday night July 11th appearance during the Central Iowa Fair. Weekly action will also be on the card for the Grandstand event that night. There will be no racing during the Fair on Friday night.

July will close out with the annual Dale DeFrance Memorial race on Friday July 26th. This has become one of the most prestigious events not only at Marshalltown, but in the Midwest. This year, the Malvern Bank West and Hoker Trucking East Super Late Models will both compete in their points events and The Farley’s Tire IMCA Modified Summer Challenge Series presented by Mesa Muffler will make a stop during the event along with Stock Cars, Northern SportMods and Hobby Stocks. The Rain Date for this event if needed would be August 2nd.

August will bring the weekly racing season to a close with $1,000.00 to Win Rugged Radios IMCA Northern SportMods on BHE night on the 9th and August 16th will be the annual North 3rd Ave Dairy Queen Larry Wollam Season Championship. After a week off, we will close out the month on August 30th with the Karl of Marshalltown Showdown at MoTown. This event always sees some of the best locals take on the travelers coming to town for the IMCA Super Nationals.

Oh wait, there's more! We will take September off and come back October 24th – 26th with the Harvest Hustle on the High Banks. This event has formally been known as the Havoc on the High Banks and most recently for years as the World Nationals. Thursday night will have practice in all divisions. Friday will see qualifying for IMCA Mod Lites, IMCA Sport Compact, Hobby Stocks, SportMods, Stock Cars and Modifieds. After the races the fun will not stop as there will be bonfires, music, a pit party and a corn hole bag tournament into the night.

Saturday will start off with breakfast on the grounds from 8-11am and because it is so close to Halloween, Trailer Trick o’ Treating for our young racers and fans. Oh, and get creative, because they will also be voting on the best decorated trailer for a cash prize! After that, it will be on to Championship night with some great pay-outs in all divisions. $3,000.00 to Win $300.00 to Start IMCA Modifieds, $2,500.00 to Win $250.00 to Start IMCA Stock Cars, $2,000.00 to Win $200.00 to Start IMCA Northern SportMods, $2,000.00 to Win $200.00 to Start IMCA Hobby Stock, $1,250.00 to Win $125.00 to Start IMCA Mod Lites, $1,000.00 to Win $100.00 to Start IMCA Sport Compacts.

From start to finish the 2024 season has something for everyone and we hope this is the year fans and drivers check it off their bucket list. Full schedule with times, pricing, and classes can be found at marshalltownspeedway.com.
